Jessica is a screenwriter, filmmaker, and photographer born and raised in LA's South Bay inside a large Black, Catholic family. Her work blends genres and returns, again and again, to ordinary people making extraordinary impacts.
She attended two separate film programs and finished top of her class in both her BFA in 2014 and her MFA in 2020. Between 2011 and 2020 she interned at Myriad Pictures, BET Networks, Gamechanger Films, and Blumhouse while working as a production assistant on independent films.
In 2023 she landed her first staff writing job on Season 12 of Chicago Fire. As the industry continues to slow, she has doubled down on independent storytelling and founded Domi Nation Collective in November 2025 to house her books, series, and ongoing creative projects.
Graduated at the top of her undergraduate film program, laying the groundwork for a discipline-first approach to storytelling.
Contributed at Myriad Pictures, BET Networks, Gamechanger Films, and Blumhouse while stage managing a play at the 2013 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
Finished her graduate film program at the top of her cohort and signed with her first manager during the pandemic summer.
Broke into episodic television as a staff writer in one of network drama's most respected rooms.
Registered her DBA to house self-published books, upcoming web series, and independent creative projects on her own terms.
